AIG Nomination, Evaluation, and Identification Process
If you would like to nominate your child for AIG, you may do so at any time of the school year. Simply contact the AIG Teacher to submit the nomination. The School Based Committee for Gifted Education (SBC-GE) reviews formal and informal indicators for all nominations and determines which students should be referred for additional assessment. Students referred for evaluation in grades 4-12 will be assessed using the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) and the Iowa Assessments. These tests will be administered in a group setting twice yearly, during established testing windows.
For more information about AIG identification, including specific criteria, please download the AIG Parent Guide, available at the bottom of this page.
For 2016-2017, students must be nominated by 09/30/2016 to be tested during the fall window, and by 1/13/17 to be tested during the spring window. Nominations received AFTER 1/13/17 will be considered during the fall window of 2017-2018.
